Celebrating Adoption

Check out this recent post on  ’Examiner.com’   I am a happy participant in the program ‘Celebrating Adoption,’ So when the articles author Amy Post contacted me I was more than happy to let her use a few of my images for the article.  Amy is the Grand Rapids Adoptive Families Examiner, and writes a variety of articles relating to adoption.

I love to participate in the Celebrating Adoption program, and I LOVE to meet so many other adoptive families.  There are so many wonderful stories about how people came to the path of adoption, while some stories start out with heartache, and others begin with the voice of God, one thing remains the same for ALL the celebrating adoption clients I have worked with. They all end happy with  a beautiful addition to a family.

Check out Amy’s page for more information on adoption.

And a little side note on adoption- I found out earlier today that Ethiopia has decided NOT to adopt out children to single women. This is a HUGE blow to many women who have been waiting for a referral for months, even years. I can not imaging the women who are affected by this are feeling.  Im am sure there is huge hurt and heart-ache.  And what about all the children waiting for homes?  Please pray for strength for these ladies as they try to figure out where to turn from here.

FAVORITE EVER!!

The bad news is… when Im super busy I barely ever get a chance to post to the blog. The good news… I have a picture to share :)

This is one of my new favorites!!  How stinken cute is it!  I LOVE the moms expression.  The little girl meant business about that little red chair. She wanted it in the picture. No matter what.  I love kids :)

Amazed.

Every now and then I feel moved to post something completely un-related to photography on my blog. As an avid blog follower, I check out many different blogs a day and one of my favorite is  The Journey Blog. This girl is just so amazing she brings me to tears. Her latest blog entry was one of those tear jerking posts that I just have to share!   Check it out HERE. Through Katies non-profit org in Uganda you can sponsor a child, or buy livestock for a family, or just donate some money to her cause. Please consider helping this totally amazing 20 yr. old in a cause that is oh so important.

Erin+Phil [grand rapids wedding photographer]

Seriously. How stinken cute is this wedding dress??  I just love it when brides step away from the norm or poofy princessy  strapless dresses. And if I do say so myself, Erin still looked like a princess, just in a rocken cool dress!! Anways…  the wedding took place at Fredrick Meijer Gardens, Flowers by Modern Day Floral  and by the way her flowers were super cool!!  Delicious cake by Mirabella Confections.  All in all… a great wedding!!

love me some cute families!! [grand rapids children photographer]

Isn’t this family cute!!   Im pretty sure that these little ones keep their parents running!!  The little man was full of energy (which I love!!) and the little sweetie is just darling!! She kept looking at me with the cutest little face as if to say ‘What are you doing lady??’  And I gotta be honest here folks. Very rarely does a client with kiddos between the ages of 1-3 leave my studio feeling great about the session. Kids this age are just busy, they run around being kids!!  What the parents don’t always realize is that this can make for some GREAT pics.  So Heather…   this is my way of telling you that you are going to LOVE your pics!!  They turned out fabulous!!

Baby Doll [grand rapids children's photography]

I always LOVE when I get to photograph kiddos multiple times.  I was able to photograph this little peanuts sisters, before she was born, I took their pictures again when Ms. Lane was brand new, and now I was so lucky to take her pictures again!!  Isn’t she just darling!!
